A five-sided prism, Penta Prism has two reflective sides and is used to deviate a beam at right angle without inverting or reversing the image. The 90° deviating angle does not change even if the prism is slightly adjusted. Hence, it is applicable in aligning the beam, laser levelling and optical tooling.
