Polarizers

A glan-type polarizer is designed to transmit only extra-ordinary light using birefringent crystals such as Calcite, Yttrium Orthovanadate, and Beta Barium Borate from the UV-IR wavelength range. Wavelength Opto-Electronics offers three types of glan-polarizer: glan-thompson, glan-taylor, and glan-laser polarizers. The glan-polarizers are designed for low, medium, and high power applications respectively. Glan-type polarizers are applicable in situations where greater extinction ratios, greater polarization purities, and broad spectral ranges are required.
