Loupes are simple, small magnification devices used to see small details more closely. Unlike a magnify-ing glass, loupes do not have an attached handle, their focusing lenses are contained in an opaque cylin-der or cone or fold into an enclosing housing that protects the lenses when not in use.
Loupes are widely used in industry of jewellery, watchmaking, photography, printing, dentistry, education and ophthalmology. Loupes are also used in academia and life science such as geology and biology.
